Who Can Apply? (Eligibility Criteria)
1. Community
Only students belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) community can apply. The caste certificate must be issued by the Office of the District Commissioner of their respective district. Certificates from any other office will not be accepted.
2. Citizenship
Only Indian citizens can apply for this scholarship.
3. Domicile (Home State)
Students must correctly mention their permanent home state (Assam) in the application. The government may send the application for verification to the authorities of the student’s home state.
4. Family Restriction
There is no limit on the number of children in a family. All children of a parent or guardian can get the benefit of this scholarship.

Types of Scholarships Available
Component I – Pre-Matric (Class IX & X)
This is for SC students studying in Class 9 and Class 10. The family income must be below Rs. 2.5 lakh per year.
Component II – Pre-Matric (Class I to X) – Special Category
This is for children whose parents or guardians work in unclean or hazardous occupations (like manual scavenging or cleaning sewers). There is no income limit for this category. Students need a certificate from the District Social Welfare Office or any authority approved by the State Government.
Post-Matric Scholarship
This is for SC students who have passed Class 10 and are studying in post-matriculation level courses. Family income must be below Rs. 2.5 lakh per year.
