If you are a student from Northeast India and looking for financial help to continue your studies, the NEC Merit Scholarship is one of the best options available for you. How Are Students Selected?

The selection process is straightforward and merit-based:

For Diploma, Degree, and Post Graduate levels, the merit list is prepared purely on the basis of marks scored in the qualifying examination. There is no interview or entrance test. The higher your percentage, the better your rank on the merit list.

For M.Phil. and Ph.D. candidates, selection is done based on the research topic or synopsis submitted by the student. The research topic must be directly related to the problems, issues, or development of the Northeast region. Basic or purely theoretical research topics are generally not favoured. The relevance of your research to Northeast India plays a key role in selection at this level.
