LIC AAO & AE Eligibility 2025
Candidates must meet educational qualifications and age criteria as mentioned below:
Educational Qualification
AAO (Generalist): Graduation in any stream from a recognized university or institution in India.
AE (Civil): Must hold a B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering from an AICTE-approved institute along with at least 3 years of relevant post-qualification experience.
AE (Electrical): Should have a B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from an AICTE-recognized institute and at least 3 years of work experience in the related field.
AAO (Chartered Accountant): Graduation in any discipline, plus completion of the Final CA Examination conducted by ICAI, with Associate Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
AAO (Company Secretary): Graduation in any discipline and must be a qualified member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI).
AAO (Actuarial): Graduation in any subject along with passing at least 6 papers of the Institute of Actuaries of India or Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, UK.
AAO (Insurance Specialist): Graduation in any discipline, with Fellowship of the Insurance Institute of India (Life branch) and at least 5 years’ experience working in a Life Insurance Company.
AAO (Legal): Law Graduate (LLB) with at least 50% marks (relaxation to 45% for SC/ST/PwBD). Candidate must be enrolled with the Bar Council and possess a minimum of 2 years of practice/experience in legal matters.
Age Limit (as on 1 August 2025)
- Generalist / AE / Specialist: 21 – 30 years
- AAO-CA & AAO-Legal: 21 – 32 years
Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST – 5 years
- OBC – 3 years
- PwBD – 10 to 15 years

LIC AAO & AE Salary 2025
LIC offers one of the best salary packages in the insurance sector.
- Basic Pay: ₹88,635/- per month
- Gross Salary (Approx.): ₹1,26,000/- per month in A-Class cities

Marking: For AAO Generalist posts, there will be no negative marking in the Preliminary Examination. On the other hand, for Specialist, AE (Assistant Engineer), and Legal posts, a ¼ (0.25) negative marking will be applicable for each wrong answer in the Prelims.
Important Note: The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination will not be considered for the final merit list.
