DURAT 2025: Dibrugarh University Ph.D. Admission – Application Started

DURAT 2025 is the entrance exam for Ph.D. admission at Dibrugarh University for the 2025–26 academic session. The Phase I written test will be held on 30 August 2025 from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM, followed by a viva-voce for shortlisted candidates. Applications can be submitted online at dibru.ac.in from 4 August to 23 August 2025.

What is DURAT 2025?

The Dibrugarh University Research Admission Test (DURAT) 2025 is a mandatory entrance examination for candidates seeking admission to Ph.D. programmes across various subjects at Dibrugarh University.

The Phase I written test is scheduled to be held on 30th August 2025, from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM. The selection process comprises a written test followed by a viva-voce for shortlisted candidates.

Eligibility Criteria for DURAT 2025

➢ To apply for Ph.D. admission, you must:

➢ Have completed a 1-year/2-semester Master’s degree after a 4-year Bachelor’s degree, or a 2-year Master’s degree after a 3-year Bachelor’s degree.

➢ Have at least 55% marks in post-graduation.

➢ If applying after a 4-year UG degree only, then you must have at least 75% marks.

➢ Relaxation of 5% is given to candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, PWD, and EWS categories.

➢ Candidates with a valid JRF or GATE score (especially B.E./B.Tech holders) are also eligible.

➢ In some cases, you may be allowed to pursue research in a subject different from your PG subject, provided the fields are interrelated.

2. Register using your full name, mobile number, and password.

3. Verify via OTP sent to your mobile.

4. Log in and fill out the application form.

5. Pay the application fee of ₹950/- through online mode (Debit/Credit/Net Banking).

6. After submission, download and print your application, fee receipt, and admit card.

DURAT 2025 Exam Pattern & Selection Process

Phase I: Written Test

Duration: 3 hours

Marks: 100

Paper is divided into two sections:

• Group A (25%) – Research Methodology/Aptitude
• Group B (75%) – Subject-specific core topics

Objective (MCQs) and Descriptive type questions

Negative marking: 25% for wrong answers (only in MCQ section)

Qualifying Marks: 50% (Relaxation of 5% for reserved categories)

Phase II: Viva-Voce

• Carries 30% weightage
• Final selection is based on combined performance in both phases
