Assam Police SI Salary

The Assam Police Sub Inspector (SI) salary is structured under the Pay Band 2 with a pay scale of ₹14,000 to ₹60,500, along with a Grade Pay of ₹8,700. In addition to the basic pay, Sub Inspectors are entitled to various allowances as per government norms, making the overall salary package attractive.

Assam Police SI Selection Process

The Assam Police SI Selection Process involves multiple stages to ensure a fair and competitive recruitment process.

Initially, candidates with properly completed applications are called for a Written Test, which carries 100 marks and is conducted in an OMR-based format.

Based on the written test results, candidates are shortlisted for the Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET) at a ratio of 5 times the number of available posts.

Candidates who clear in these stages are further shortlisted for the Oral/Viva-Voce, carrying a maximum of 5 marks. Here, the ratio is reduced to 2 times the number of vacancies, and any tie in marks will include all such candidates in the subsequent stage.

Assam Police SI Exam Pattern and Syllabus

The Assam Police SI written test has 100 questions, each worth 1 mark. The total test is for 100 marks, and there is a 0.5 negative mark for each wrong answer. The test is divided into three sections: (i) Logical Reasoning, Aptitude, and English Comprehension, (ii) History and Culture of Assam and India, and (iii) General Knowledge. Candidates have 3 hours to finish the test. It is available in four languages: English, Assamese, Bodo, and Bengali. Candidates must use a black or dark blue ball pen to mark their answers.
