Assam Police Selection Process 2025
Candidates will be selected through multiple stages:
- Physical Standard Test (PST)

Written Examination Pattern
After the completion of the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), applicants who meet the merit criteria will be shortlisted for the Written Examination. The selection will be based on the marks obtained in the PET. Candidates will be called in order of merit at a ratio of 1:5, meaning five times the number of available posts for each category. For the Constable AB post, PET marks will first be converted into a percentage before preparing the merit list.
The Written Examination will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions, and candidates will need to answer them on an OMR-based answer sheet. Each correct answer will carry 0.5 marks, making the total score for the written test 50 marks.
The level of the questions will be based on the Class 9 and Class 10 syllabus. Importantly, there will be no negative marking, so candidates will not lose marks for incorrect responses. The question paper will be available in Assamese, Bodo, Bengali, and English languages to ensure accessibility for all candidates.
