Every year, SCERT Assam (State Council of Educational Research and Training) invites applications from eligible students for this 2-year diploma course.

For the academic session 2026–2028, SCERT Assam has officially released the notification for D.El.Ed. Admission 2026. To get admitted, candidates must appear in a written entrance exam called the Pre-Entry Test (PET). This test helps select the best candidates from each district of Assam.

Who Can Apply? – Eligibility Criteria
Before filling the application form, make sure you meet all the eligibility conditions listed below.
1. Domicile (Where You Live)
You must be a permanent resident of Assam. Candidates from other states are not eligible.
2. Educational Qualification
You must have passed the Higher Secondary (Class 12 / 10+2) examination from a recognized board or council.
- General / OBC / EWS candidates – Minimum 50% marks in aggregate (excluding optional or 4th subject marks)
- SC, ST(P), ST(H) candidates – Minimum 45% marks in aggregate (5% relaxation)
3. Age Limit (as on 1 July 2026)
- Minimum age: 18 years
- Maximum age: 34 years
- SC, ST(P), ST(H) candidates – Upper age relaxed by 2 years (up to 36 years)
4. Reservation
Seats are reserved for OBC/MOBC, SC, ST(P), ST(H), PWD, and EWS categories as per the Government of Assam Reservation Policy. PWD candidates must have at least 40% benchmark disability in one of these categories: Visually Impaired (VI), Hearing Impaired (HI), or Orthopedically Handicapped (OH).
Application Fee
The application fee for all categories is ₹600/- (non-refundable). Payment can be made online through:

There is no fee waiver for any category, so every applicant must pay ₹600 while submitting the form.
Exam Pattern
The Pre-Entry Test is an OMR-based paper with 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) for a total of 100 marks. The exam duration is 2 hours.
Important: For every wrong answer, 0.25 mark will be deducted. If you mark more than one option for a question, it will also be treated as a wrong answer.

Selection Process
Selection is based purely on your marks in the PET exam. There is no interview or other round.
- SCERT will publish district-wise merit lists separately for Science stream and Arts/other streams.
- 30% of seats in each district are reserved for Science stream candidates.
- 70% of seats are for Arts and other streams.
- After results, online counselling is held where candidates choose their preferred Teacher Education Institutes (TEIs).
- Final allotment depends on your score, category, district, and seat availability.
The TEIs where you can get admission include DIETs, CTEs, Normal Schools, BITEs, BTCs, and approved private institutes across Assam.
Note: Getting the D.El.Ed. diploma does not automatically guarantee a government teaching job. Recruitment is handled separately by the concerned authority.

Applying is completely online. Follow these simple steps:

- Click on “New Registration” and register using your valid mobile number and email ID
- Log in with the Application ID or Registration ID you receive after registration
- Fill in your personal details, educational qualifications, and category details carefully

- Upload a recent passport-size colour photograph (JPEG, max 100 KB) and your signature (JPEG, max 100 KB)
- Upload scanned copies of required documents in PDF format (max 450 KB each)
